Violence

All members of chambers have experience of handling allegations of violent offending.

We are regularly instructed in cases involving allegations of Wounding with Intent (or Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent), Unlawful Wounding (or Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm) and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

We also have appreciable expertise in Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Threats to Kill, Kidnap and False Imprisonment. We use our skills to distill and evaluate complex and multi-faceted evidence and create the strongest of cases whether prosecuting or defending.

We have a proven track record in handling cases that involve multi-handed gang-related violence, Riot, Violent Disorder, Affray and other public order offences,, organised crime offences and racially aggravated ‘hate crime’ offences. Cases of this nature often attract attention from the media which we have a wealth of experience in dealing with professionally.

Violent crime cases regularly involve the assessment of cell site analysis data and DNA evidence concerning the allegations. Several of our number have developed their skills analysing this kind of evidence over many years and can understand, present and effectively challenge it as the need may be.
