John Burgess, a retired Crown Court Judge and former Barrister at No. 1 High Pavement has spent over 40 years working in the English courts. In conjunction with the National Justice Museum he has produced a series of podcasts of conversations with people from No. 1 High Pavement about their work and the criminal law.

No.1 High Pavement Chambers are delighted to announce that Miss Serena Varatharajah has accepted an invitation to join chambers on the successful completion of her pupillage.

We are please to announce that we are looking to recruit two pupils. We are offering two funded 12 month pupillages starting in September 2023 and April 2024. We are looking for your potential to become a first class advocate.

We are pleased to announce that Mr Alex Wolfson has accepted an invitation to join Chambers. Mr Wolfson will be joining Chambers in the near future. As an experienced barrister we are delighted that Alex is continuing his practice at the Bar with Chambers.

Lauren Fisher instructed by East Midlands CPS prosecuted a prison officer before Lincoln Crown Court for misconduct in a public office.

The University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and the Nuffield Foundation hosted a conference on “Participation, Vulnerability and the Legal Process and International Perspectives” in Nottingham. Members of chambers were privileged to be involved in both the conference and being interviewed for the research.
