Mini-Pupillage

Chambers offers mini-pupillages to those seeking careers as Barristers. A mini-pupillage is an excellent way to gather an insight into the work of a Barrister.

We are delighted to have offered many mini-pupillages over the years to people who have gone on to have successful careers in the law. Please see below for more information.

Overview & Criteria
Mini-Pupillage

A mini-pupillage lasts for one week and we usually take two mini-pupils for that week.

A mini-pupillage presents an unrivalled opportunity to spend 2-5 days shadowing a barrister.

You will have the opportunity to watch barristers preparing and conducting cases in court. You may also have the opportunity to read case papers and to observe conferences (subject to it being appropriate and the relevant consent).

We expect you would normally spend time shadowing more than one member of Chambers. We will not ask you to do any written work.

Requirements

All mini-pupillage placements are reserved for those who are studying law at an undergraduate or studying for a professional level legal qualification.

You must be aged 18 or over at the time of the mini-pupillage.

You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and terms & conditions prior to undertaking your mini-pupillage. You will also be invited to complete a diversity monitoring form. We will require you to demonstrate that you understand your duty of confidentiality and compliance with the GDPR.
